Beverly Isn’t Just Where We Are. It’s Who We Are.

Nicky's Beverly Neighborhood

There’s a reason we put the neighborhood right in our name.

Nicky’s of Beverly (N.o.B.) has been on Western Avenue since 1997. We started at 103rd, then moved to our current spot at 105th & Western in 2021. The address changed. The neighborhood didn’t. And neither did we.

Beverly is one of the most distinctive communities on Chicago’s South Side. Tree-lined streets, a mix of bungalows & Victorian homes, families that have been here for generations alongside newcomers who came for exactly that stability. It’s the kind of place where people know their neighbors, kids walk to school, & people grocery shopping at County Fair routinely stop for a friendly chat.

We’ve been here long enough to see what that actually looks like at the table.

The Table Tells the Story

Walk into N.o.B. on a Saturday afternoon & you’ll see what Beverly is made of. A couple with a baby stroller parked on the patio. A communal table with parents, grandparents, and children celebrating a birthday. Teens lounging at a picnic table with gelato cones and shakes. A little league team celebrating a win with Chicago style hot dogs.

That mix isn’t accidental. It’s the neighborhood.

Beverly draws people who want roots. And once they’re here, they stay. That kind of community doesn’t just happen — it’s built, block by block, year by year, by people who show up for each other. Nicky’s has been part of that for almost 30 years because we believe the same thing.

A restaurant isn’t just a place to eat. It’s a place where community actually happens.

South Side, Through & Through

Paul Kostopanagiotou — owner & the second generation of restaurateurs behind the Nicky’s name — grew up in this tradition. His father ran one of the original Nicky’s locations on the Southwest Side for more than three decades. That kind of lineage shapes how you think about a restaurant’s place in a neighborhood. You’re not just running a business. You’re keeping something going.

When Paul brought Nicky’s to Beverly, he wasn’t planting a flag somewhere new. He was extending a legacy into a community that understands legacy. Beverly gets it. The people here have watched their own families put down roots in this city, in this neighborhood, on these specific streets. They know what it means to invest in a place & have it give something back.

That’s the version of Chicago we want to be a part of.

What Families Actually Need

Here’s what we’ve learned from nearly 30 years of feeding South Side families: people don’t want complicated. They want good.

A place where kids can find something they’ll eat & adults find something they actually want. A menu that’s as diverse as the customers, so no one needs to make multiple stops for a meal. Our customers want a gyro carved fresh off the spit & a Chicago-style hot dog built the right way. They want a flame-grilled burger that doesn’t disappoint. If Grandma is plant-forward, the teenagers want Italian beef, & the littlest one will only eat fries with cheese, they want a place where everyone leaves happy.

That’s what we’ve built the menu around. Not trends. Families.

Our kitchen takes every item seriously — whether it’s a classic beef sandwich dipped in au jus or a composed Mediterranean salad that can go vegan without losing anything. Because the table at Nicky’s looks just like the tables in Beverly homes: full of people who love each other & don’t all want the same thing.

The Patio, the Music, the Vibe

A neighborhood restaurant should feel like the neighborhood. Ours does.

When the weather turns — which, this being Chicago, happens whenever it wants — the patio comes alive. A fire pit, string lights, a big table for groups, smaller ones for pairs.

In the winter, we keep things cozy. Diners sit at bistro tables inside a pair of shipping containers, perfect for date nights and small groups.

The rest of the year, we’re all about our patios. We’ve had birthday parties & post-game celebrations & first dates & anniversary dinners all happen within a few feet of each other on our patios. Local craft beers on tap. Live music from Chicago artists through our Summer Music Series. The kind of energy that makes you want to stay a little longer.

That’s the Beverly energy: unpretentious, warm, & ready to have fun.

To the Neighborhood: Thank You

We don’t take it for granted that Beverly has been showing up for us as long as we’ve been here. We appreciate every regular who’s brought their kids in after they moved away. Every new family who found us in their first week on the block. Every table of regulars who have, collectively, sat in these seats hundreds of times.

Beverly takes care of its own. We try to do the same.

Come in. Grab a seat. Bring the family.

We’ll see you at N.o.B.
