Nicky’s of Beverly is excited to partner with longtime local music business Beverly Records to offer a unique experience on our patio: Vinyl Thursdays!
Starting Thursday, June 3, and every Thursday with good weather, we’ll have a live DJ on the patio from 6 to 9 pm. The patio will be reserved for guests 21 years and older during this time, as alcoholic beverages will be served. Guests will be able to interact with DJ John Dreznes of Beverly Records, who will spin vinyl, take your requests, and tell stories about the selected music. John is kicking off Vinyl Thursday on the Patio at NOB is June 3 with ‘Vinyl 101.’ He’ll share the appeal of vinyl records and why they’ve made a comeback in recent years.
During lunch service on Thursdays, Paul and the gang will spin records from a particular artist, era, or genre. In the evening, DJ John will go in depth, with more of the selected music, including stories behind the songs and artists.
If you don’t know Beverly Records, you should! They’ve been a family-owned neighborhood business for more than 50 years and are a fantastic resource for music fans and record collectors. John Dreznes grew up in his grandma’s record shop and now manages it with other family members. At its heyday, in the 1970s, Beverly Records was the premier record store in the entire country. It remains one of the oldest record shops in Chicago and is celebrated for its stock of rare vinyl.
